Affordable Wish List

I get paid tomorrow woop woop!

I've been quite poor this month due to this, that and the other, so when I get paid I'm going to treat myself to some/all of the below:

This 'trophy' jacket from BooHoo. I am a big fan of the Chanel-esque (although we aren't allowed to call anything that anymore)  boucle (how does one do an accented e?) jacket. This is from BooHoo's 'Boutique' range, and is a tad more pricey than their usual stuff at £45, although hopefully that will mean the quality is better and justify the mark up. This will be cute for work over a white shirt and skirt or cropped trousers.

This cute gilet from New Look, £39.99. I have been hankering after a furry gilet recently, I don't know why, I probably saw someone cool wearing one and it has been subconsciously etched on to my brain. I like this one as it has different coloured furs and would go with many different outfits.

Another Chanel rip off. I'm sorry Chanel! Don't hate me. It's only because I love you but cannot in a million years afford you. This T-shirt from Studded Petals makes me really happy though. Especially for £11.99.

I am majorly in love with this bag, and have been ever since I set eyes on it whilst browsing the Accessorize website about a month ago. I love satchels and the stag head is so cute! £32.

Last but not least, I want looaaddss of stuff from Sparkly Nails. I came across this site when it was featured More! magazine and it looks amazing. It's so cheap and I'm pretty sure they are UK based so I won't have the wait for it to ship all the way from China, which is what stops me from buying lots of nail stuff from Ebay.

Speaking of nails, here are some nail art designs I have sported recently:

I can't wait to do Halloween nails on Wednesday!

P.S. I have more stuff on Ebay here

Review: Sleek part 2- 'Sunset' i Divine eyeshadow palette

Second to review from my Sleek haul is an i Divine eye shadow palette in 'Sunset'. This is actually a Sleek palette that I had when it first came out, and I was gutted when I lost it, so was mega happy to receive it again!

I accidentally stepped on it and cracked the mirror :(

Swatched from top to bottom, left to right.

I really like this collection of eye shadows, I am partial to a coppery smokey eye on a night out (black/grey can be too harsh on me) and the last 6 are great at creating this. They are highly pigmented, have a really pretty shimmery sheen to them and last all night. The only colours I wouldn't try are the bright blue and the bright orange , because both shades would look far too harsh on my skin tone  Also, despite designers'/magazines' best efforts to convince us that blue no longer has horrible garish 1980s associations, it definitely still does! I can see why Sleek have included it though as it does make the eye shadows 'pop' in the palette and help create the sunset effect.

The Sunset palette is £7.99 from the Sleek Website.

Looks loved this week

These people are cool:

This super cute lady from Tokyo Faces makes me happy. I love a good cat face, and he's got a 3D bow tie on! Love that she's paired it with some bright red shoes too.

I love the colours in this outfit, blue mixed with burgundy is a winner. Those heels are adorable too. From The Sartorialist.

What I do like about the way Victoria Beckham dresses is that she makes the simplest of outfits look so stylish, because she always looks so polished. I love the bagginess of the Balenciaga dress and the chunkiness of the Lanvin shoes. I also like that she has worn a low waist without it being flapper-y and 20s. From Red Carpet Fashion Awards.

In other news, I bought this dress in the Topshop sale:

I wanted to like it so much, but it's so unflattering it makes me really sad. It gapes where the buttons are but is too baggy at the waist and the cut out shoulders make me look massive. But I love the print. WAAAHHH.  So back it will go. I should have bought the shirt when it was in store. :(

Saturday OOTD and Harry Potter

Here is what I have been wearing today. This morning me and my boyfriend met up with his sister and her ickle baby (he is the cutest, fact).

Jumper Topshop
Shirt Uniqlo
Jeans Topshop
Trainers Converse
Necklace River Island

This is also my first attempt at galaxy nails, I pleased with them, although next time I think I may try using slightly fewer colours.

Also, on Friday I went to the Harry Potter studio tour in Watford, it was really interesting and definitely worth a visit (although it is tres expensive at £28!). Personally I'm not a huge fan of posts when people take loads of photos of exhibitions as it kinda ruins it slightly if it's something I want to see myself, so i've only posted a few of the things I enjoyed:

I liked these little hair/make up area. I thought it was cute that they had all the notes up, and that they used Mac products.

Me and My boyfriend in the mirror of 'erised'. (Did anyone else pronounce it e-rised when they read the book rather than E-ri-zed? ha)

One more thing, yesterday I received my 'Our fave outfits this week' email from WIWT, and there I was at number 9:

I was well chuffed as I love WIWT! Yay :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Looks Loved This Week

Looks I have loved this week (longer than a week actually but never mind):

Oh look it's Blair again (she will be featured A LOT). A lesson in tonal executed to perfection. Everyone look and learn.

Love that this frothy pink and girly dress has a white collar. Well done Emma Stone (image from google)

I LOVE that shade of green and I love it even more in sequin form. And those Jimmy Choos are perfect with it.

I love this sweatshirt meets sparkly necklace look which was seen a lot at the 4 fashion weeks. From Topshop Tumblr.

What looks have you loved this week?

Wildfox Intimate- Juliet Capulet-The Real World

I have said it before and I'll say it again: I heart wildfox. There new collection is a range of 'initmates', underwear and snuggle wear and the like. It's dreamy. Observe:

I don't know what it is about this brand but it just makes me want everything, even though it's really not my usual style. I think it's a combination of the styling, the models, and the locations they shoot in. And obviously the clothes. I think a piece of Wildfox might be my next save-up-for purchase.

P.S. I'm selling some garms on Ebay, check them out here! x

Review: Sleek part 1-Lipsticks

I was SUPER lucky to receive a package this week from Sleek make-up containing so much amazing stuff- it was like Christmas had come early!

I have loved Sleek's eye shadow palettes ever since I got one free when I subscribed to Elle one year, so I was really chuffed to receive some of their other products. I'm going to review all the stuff I received, but i'm going to separate it into chunks. Firstly, i'm going to show you the lipsticks they sent:

From L-R: Mulberry (sheen), Vixen (sheen), Papaya Punch (matte), Pink Freeze (matte) and Fuchsia (sheen).

The colours have a good amount of pigment, I wore Papaya Punch on Thursday to work, and only had to touch it up about twice even after lunch, so they have great staying power. They also go on really nicely and don't feel drying on the lips. The only criticism I would have is that the matte shades don't look too matte on,  but the colour is really vibrant and doesn't cake which some matte lipsticks can.

I love all the shades, I really want to wear Mulberry to work but I need to pluck up the courage as it's quite daring. Maybe I'll just blot it on so it's more of a stain than full on coverage.

Thanks so much Sleek!

New purchases

As I mentioned in a previous post, I received some money on my birthday last week, and have splurged this week on two items that I am in LOVE with. Firstly, the boots. I went into River Island and tried on the ones I recently wrote about in this post. It was love at first sight/try on. I had £65 birthday money so they only actually cost me £20, which is an absolute steal for leather boots which I am going to wear all autumn and winter and probably spring and summer too. As I always say, cost per wear is low (this is how I like to calculate true bargains).

Here they are, the beauties:

YES.

Today I had a day off work so I went to the V&A in South Kensington to visit the Ballgowns exhibition. Sadly I couldn't take any photos as cameras were banned but it was a beautiful exhibition and all the dresses were displayed in such an eye-catching  way, it was very nicely curated. With the more recent dresses, I played a little game with myself where I tried to guess the designer before I looked at the plaque. Yeah, I'm cool.

After the exhibition I took a trip to the mother ship (Topshop Oxford Circus) as my friend Kellie gave me a voucher for my birthday. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed with the stock they had. I tried on this dress which I really liked, especially the fit, but as it was from Boutique it was £65 and I couldn't justify it. Miss Selfridge however, I was more impressed with, and I ended up using my voucher on this wonderful little number:

In this picture it looks a bit horrible and doesn't do it justice, it's hard to photograph black. The picture on the website is much better:

I just think it's the cutest thing, with a shirt underneath and my boots, or with a little jumper and loafers.Very Alexa Chung. Plus, I can wear it to work which is always a bonus!

So pleased with my two buys, birthday money well spent. I still have a £45 House of Fraser voucher to spend, and I'm so confused with what to get. I think I want to get a foundation and concealer, but I like to research A LOT before I make a final decision, so I'm going to hit up You Tube and beauty blogs to read some reviews. Hurrah!

New Camera!

For my birthday last week, my boyfriend bought me the best present ever- a new camera. I've mentioned on my blog previously that I wanted a camera, as having to take photos with my phone was really getting on my nerves, plus it looks creepy when wanting to do street style posts!

This is the camera I got:

It's a FujiFilm Finepix S2995, I love him (both camera and boyfriend)! I think it's quite a simple. easy to use camera, I didn't want anything too complicated or fancy as I'm a right div when it comes to cameras. So this is perfect for me. I can't wait to use it!

Autumn Winter Boots

I got some money for my birthday and I really want some new winter boots. I got some ankle boots from River Island last year which were £40 and I still really like them but I want to invest in some that are real leather. I've tried loaads of website but a lot seem to be same old same as last year, with a few studs thrown on. Even Topshop didn't really inspire me, and usually they have at least one pair of boots I lust after each AW.

The first boots that caught me eye were these beauties:

£119 Zara

I know I literally JUST moaned about studs but I do really like these, however they are tres expensive, a bit far out of my budget.

£80 Office

Studs again (I'm a massive hypocrite) but I do really like the buckles on these.

£85 Office

These I quite enjoy because they're so simple. They remind me of the 90s.

 £85 Office

I also like these for similar reasons but suede is not good with UK weather!

£85 River Island

These are my favourite I think. I'm a sucker for that sole (apparently it's called a 'cleated' sole) and I like the heel height, plus the fact that they're lace ups. I think i'm gonna have to have a little browse and try them on tomorrow!
