OOTD: Galaxy print leggings

This is what I wore to go to Bath for the day with the parents.

Shirt Primark
Leggings Miss Selfridge
Flatforms H&M
Necklace Topman

I went to the Fashion Museum in Bath with my mum, I've never been before but it was actually really good.

They had the Chanel dress that Kate Moss wore for her birthday one year, which was part of a 'Dress of the Year' exhibition.

They also had this McQueen dress:

Today I have been Ombre-ing a really old denim jacket, I'm not thrilled with the results but hopefully it will look better when it's completely dry.

Last night I went out in Bristol which I haven't done properly for about 3 months (because I now live in London), I didn't think I was gonna be going out but my friend is the most fickle person in the world and changed her mind, so I had brought no going out-y clothes with me. I had a bit of an outfit meltdown because nothing my friends had fitted me, or looked nice, or I didn't have the right underwear etc etc, but in the end I found this little leopard print skater dress (awkward mirror photo):

I also wore a dark lipstick which I found in my make up bag, I've had it for about 5 years but never worn it, now I absolutely love it!

Today I wish I could go shopping for a new work wardrobe!

I've recently landed a new job which requires me to wear all black. . Working at Topshop meant that pretty much anything went, and although black makes up a lot of my wardrobe, I haven't got that many smart pieces.

I Wish Wednesday: Chanel 2.55

Today, and every day, I wish I had a Chanel 2.55, like every other girl in the whole world.

I would like a classic black one please:

I would want to wear it with everything whilst also not wearing it with anything in case it got lost. Sadly at £2,500, I don't think I will ever own this bag, unless I win the lottery or become best friends with Karl (he's not returning my calls again). So for now I will carry on staring at it in Harrods, whilst the sales advisors don't even ask if I need help cos they can tell I can't afford it. Haha.

Here are some celebrities looking ten times cooler than they would were they not carrying the bag:

Nicole Richie

Lauren Conrad (I swear she has about 10)

Blake Lively

Kirsten Dunst

Alexa Chung, who also sums up how I would feel if I had one in the next photo :

I bet it tastes delightful.

Met Ball 2012

I love seeing photos from the Met Ball, mainly because I like to see what the Olsens are wearing.

Also, I wish I could go to an event which calls for floor length gold lame, so I will live vicariously through Jessica Alba.

Faves:

Carey Mulligan in Prada (Don't love the shoes)

Emma Stone in Lanvin. I think the dress is a bit too short for the Met Ball, but she is so flippin cute that I don't care.

Lana Del Rey in custom Joseph Altuzarra. Absolutely love this, she's like a gothic red riding hood. If goths liked floor length silver gems...

Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren. Perfect. Like everything she wears, and her face.

Jessica Alba in Michael Kors. Yes.

Solange Knowles in Rachel Roy. I love her hair, I love her make up, I love her dress, I love her cuff and I love her bag. Favourite look of the night.

Worsties:

Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte. Normally I heart Kirsten, but it looks like she came from the office and quickly fashioned a skirt to match the jacket she had on. I dislike the belt and the buttons together, far too messy for my eyes.

Florence Welch in Alexander Mcqueen. LOL.

Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu. I love you Chloe Sevigny. And yes you are very quirky. But this is the Met Ball, so at least pop on a slip.

Dree Hemingway in Topshop. It's not that I don't like this, but why on one of the few nights of the year when  you can wear something show stopping, would you wear Topshop?!?

Dakota Fanning in Louis Vuitton. Again, I don't hate, but it's just meh. I would like to see Dakota wear something really unexpected, and that includes her hair and make up.

And the Olsen...

Mary-Kate Olsen in The Row. After staring at it for quite a while, I have mixed feelings about this. From the top of the sash up, I love, and from the top of the sash down, I feel meh. And where is Ashley?

That concludes my very professional analysis of the Met Ball 2012. Happy Tuesday :)

I Wish Wednesday: Long nails

This Wednesday, I really wish I had long nails.

Pretty much ever since I started painting my nails, I have preferred to keep my nails short and square, but within the last 2 months I have been envious of anyone with longer talons (especially natural ones).

I think my change of heart is largely down to WAH! nails and tumblrs like Fuckyeahnailart! as they are always posting pictures of amazing nail art on like these:

.
I also LOVE Kate's (from This Is What I do) nails, I can't believe they are real!

How?!?

Working as a VM means constantly moving stuff around, picking up hangers, etc etc, so inevitably my nails are always breaking and splitting. Plus, my naked nails make me feel really quite sick, so I always have nail varnish on, and it becomes a vicious circle.

So, I have been on a bit of a mission to grow my nails recently, and so far I've tried two products. First I bought the Boots Salon Nail Growth Activator, after debating the millions of products on offer in Boots, I think in the end I went for it simply because it was the cheapest! To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with it, like I said I think my job is a big factor in why my nails break a lot, but it just chipped so quickly, and after a week there was no visible improvement at all, so I gave up.

One of the friends who I live with then gave me Sally Hansen: Maximum Growth. Unfortunately, I can't really do a fair review on this product, as the one I have acquired is quite old and the product is gloopy, making it hard to add a layer every day as suggested on the packaging. Despite this I definitely noticed an improvement in both the length and strength of my nails, so I think I'm going to invest in a Sally Hansen product.

On the Sally Hansen website they have a 'Nail Clinic' feature which diagnoses your problem nails by posing a few questions, and then suggests products to help. Apparently I have Weak nails, which I think is a fair analysis, and I'm gonna try at least a few of the products suggested and do a before and after comparison.

If anyone knows of any miracle cures please tell me!
