Review: Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream

In the Harrod's glossy box, there was a Clarin's Extra-Firming Body Cream sample.

I've only used one other Clarins product before, the Skin Illusion Natural Radiance foundation, which I was very impressed with, so I had high hopes for the body cream.

(my hand looks really dry, the air con at work really takes out the moisture. I need some hand cream!)

The consistency is smooth, and feels almost silky.  I have been using it after showering every day and it goes on nicely and evenly. According to the front of the tube, this product 'Lifts, tones, comforts'. After using this cream every day for about two weeks, I would say one out of the three claims is true.

I've noticed a slight difference around my 'problem areas' (which it says to target), my elbows and knees are much smoother and slightly firmer. The initial smell is quite pleasant, but the product leaves a slightly different aftersmell (is this a word?!?), which I think may be suited to a more mature customer, as it's a sort of classic floral scent.

I wouldn't say the product 'comforts', it feels nice on the skin, and I feel better after applying it but I think that's the case with any moisturiser. And unfortunately I haven't noticed any lifting, although I think this may be because I am young (ish) and am lucky enough to not have any particularly saggy bits yet!

Overall, I have enjoyed using this product, but I think it is targeted at someone older than me, due to the scent, the properties it boasts and the price point.  I would not buy this again, but would recommend it to my mum!

Galibardy

My friend Kellie wrote on my Facebook wall asking if I could find her a sparkly collar. I was browsing the jewellery links saved in my favourites when I came across Galibardy, which I remember discovering ages ago but must have forgotten about. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it again because it sells amazing jewellery!

I really, really want this necklace:

£28.

This would make me so happy under a white shirt.

Studs

I bought these studs last month from this Etsy seller.

I was planning on studding some white brogues, but the leather was too thick and it wouldn't go through :( So instead I decided to stud this shirt, which I got from a charity shop (it was on the 99p rail woo hoo).

Before...

After...

I am v pleased with the result! I might continue the studding a bit further up, I'm not sure yet.

I'm on night shifts at the moment for work, and that means leggings, t shirt and a hoody are about as smart as I go (if it was socially acceptable to wear a onesie I would) but if I was on day shifts I would wear my new shirt like this...

Jumper: Jumble sale
Skirt: Primark
Flatforms: H&M

I've now got my eye on thesethese and these. I can't wait to get stud happy!

Models Own Bottle Shop

I was casually wandering around Westfield in Shepherd's Bush after a delightful Nando's, when I spied the shiny new Models Own Bottle Shop which has recently opened. Look how pretty!

I've been a big fan of Models Own for ages and I love the consistency, price and variety of colours they offer. I was extremely excited to see they have opened their own shop, which I was pleased to discover, is permanent.

They have the same deals as the Models Own website, so I was pretty much forced to get 3 for £7.

L-R: Hed Kandi Hedonist, Pink Fizz, Black Magic

So far I've tried Pink Fizz, which looks like this:

I like it a lot, it's really subtle but still striking and pretty.  It reminds me of being about 8 and pretending to be a fairy!

I've also tried Hedonist which is from the (limited edition?) Hed Kandi range, i've got it on my feet atm but I'm not going to subject anyone to a photo of  that haha! It is very similar to Pink Punch by Models Own, but slightly more red. Lily from the brilliant LLYMLRS has it on here

And the black I just got cos I needed a new black in my collection.

Needless to say, I will be returning for more!

What I bought: Wedge Trainers

About 10 minutes after I bought the white high tops in my Topshop Uniform post, I walked past River Island and they had these beauties in the window.

I fell a little bit in love, but assuming they would be about £70, like these Topshop ones, and the fact that I had just purchased some reeallly similar ones, I walked on by. However, I popped into the Oxford Circus River Island about a week later just to have a look, and discovered they were only £40! So when I got paid on Friday I decided to treat myself.

I really like them, they have a hidden wedge which makes them easy to walk in, I've only tried them on round my house but fingers crossed they don't hurt! Because my Topshop ones do.

I love :)

When I showed my boyfriend he was like 'But you bought some exactly the same the other day'. Ha! Men are cute.
